Job Description
As Employment Counsel/ Partner:
- Provide legal counsel on a variety of labor and employment matters.
- Representing clients in arbitration, grievance proceedings, collective bargaining and mediation.
- Must have experience with National Labor Relations Board proceedings and litigation.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements and documents.
- Administration of collective bargaining agreements.
- Advise on matters such as terminations, discrimination claims, workplace investigations and wage and hour compliance.
- Stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Deliver training and workshops on employment law topics for clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with other departments to address employment-related risks and opportunities.
- Support clients in developing strategies to manage and resolve employment disputes effectively.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Employment Counsel/ Partner will have:
- A Juris Doctor (JD) degree
- Licensed and in good standing to practice in New York, admission in New Jersey (in addition to NY) would be beneficial.
- Extensive knowledge (8+ years experience) in employment law and regulations.
- Strong negotiation, drafting, and litigation skills.
- Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working within the professional services industry is preferred.
