Center Director (Liaison) Lead Coach
RECAP is a leader in early childhood education, dedicated to providing high-quality Head Start programs that support the growth and development of children and families in our community. As a Center Liaison Lead Coach, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our daycare center, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and fostering the professional growth of our education staff. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting program planning, staff development, and continuous improvement, all within a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day operations of the RECAP Head Start program, ensuring compliance with daycare licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in program planning, service system design, and implementation of center policies to protect the health, safety, and welfare of children.
- Advise families on center policies, schedules, and address concerns as they arise.
- Monitor and document compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, NYS OCFS Daycare Regulations, and CACFP guidelines.
- Oversee facilities management, including monthly safety inspections, maintenance of licensing and inspection documents, and ensuring all health and safety postings are current.
- Supervise and coach education staff, providing orientation, ongoing training, and professional development opportunities.
- Implement Practice Based Coaching, including intensive coaching for identified staff, and facilitate teacher learning through constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records and utilize data systems to track program goals, staff training, and child progress.
- Participate in team meetings, community events, and represent the center at local, state, and regional initiatives.
- Coordinate with transportation contractors (where available) to ensure safe and compliant transportation services.
- Lead ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement efforts, analyzing data and communicating findings to the leadership team.
- Manage human resources functions such as timesheet approval, background checks, performance appraisals, and staff support.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and collaborative environment for staff, children, and families.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience teaching children ages 3–5 and implementing developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum.
- Ability to pass a physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen.
- Ability to lift children weighing 40–50 pounds in case of emergency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Current driver’s license.
- Basic computer literacy, including email, word processing, and internet navigation.
- Basic understanding of video equipment use.
