Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Legislative and External Affairs (Assistant Commissioner) Location Bronx, NY (Fordham area) : The duties that the incumbent of the vacancy will be expected to perform. Duties Description Reporting directly to the Deputy Commissioner of External and Legislative Affairs, the Assistant Deputy Commissioner of External and Legislative Affairs' duties include, but are not limited to: • Acting as the agency's primary liaison to local human rights commissions, community-based organizations serving protected classes, and other relevant stakeholders;• Representative of the agency in partnerships with sister state agencies including DOL, DCJS, OPDV, DOS, OPWDD and other stakeholders with missions to serve protected classes; • Facilitating events on behalf of the agency and supporting co-sponsorship of relevant events with stakeholder agencies; • Promotion of agency events and media and analysis of various aspects of outreach coordination;• Creation and compilation of the agency's annual report and other public-facing materials illustrative of the agency's programs;• Supervision of external relations staff and oversight of staff supporting agency events; • Support consultants working on agency branding and initiatives;• Active participation in agency procurement of relevant supplies and materials pertaining to external affairs; and• Perform any additional tasks as needs arise.
