Surgery Veterinary Assistant

We are excited to expand our Surgery Department with the addition of a second surgeon, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant to join our supportive and collaborative team. Schedule:- More information to come, but we are anticipating four 10-hour shifts.
- $20 - $23 pending experience & skillset
As a Surgery Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play an essential role in supporting our surgical team and ensuring each patient receives the highest level of care. Your day will be dynamic and hands-on, with responsibilities that include:
- Cleaning and sterilizing all surgical equipment and instrument packs (gas sterilization certification provided)
- Running CT scans from start to finish with comprehensive training
- Obtaining orthopedic and standard radiographs
- Safely restraining patients for exams and anesthetic procedures
- Setting up and breaking down the surgery department for daily procedures
- Communicating clearly and effectively with all members of the team
- Maintaining flexibility to support a rotating schedule
- Taking and recording patient vitals accurately
- Assisting the Surgery Liaison with starting appointments and collecting thorough patient histories
