HR PAYROLL CLERK GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Merani Hotel Group is an independent hotel management company formed in 2005 in the Niagara Frontier Region. We are looking for an efficient HR Payroll Clerk to be responsible for all tasks involved in processing payroll and assist with HR paperwork. This individual will have a range of duties that include verifying timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring employees receive their pay on time. To be successful in this position you should be able to carry out all tasks with high attention to detail.

HR PAYROLL CLERK KEY RESPONSIBLITES:

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll schedules by established deadlines.
  • Maintain and update payroll records by processing changes including but not limited to state/federal taxes, garnishments, insurance coverage, salary increases, and 401k deferrals.
  • Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Review and approve any payroll adjustments submitted by Department Managers.
  • Review daily punch change requests and sick time requests for accuracy, communicating any issues with Department Managers.
  • Process and submit Record of Employment for our Canadian companies.
  • Process weekly time and attendance reports.
  • Process weekly child support payments through ExpertPay.
  • Assist with unemployment, Workers Compensation, disability and PFL claims.
  • Monthly reconciliation of employee information for ACA purposes.
  • Work closely with our accounting team for seamless reconciliation and reporting purposes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

HR PAYROLL CLERK REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Prior payroll processing experience; Canadian payroll experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of payroll software is beneficial; Paycom experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with accounting concepts and processes.
  • Accurate data entry skills with great attention to detail.
  • Confidentiality and respect for the privacy of employee records.
  • Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent in both written and verbal communication.
