Marine Technician Position

Castaway Marina is a growing top performing marine organization that delivers exceptional experience to its customers. We are a family-owned business since 1998. We are looking for a motivated, meticulous, team-oriented person who prides themselves in doing a fantastic job. We have an immediate open position for a Marine Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

· Diagnose and perform repairs on Volvo and Mecruiser sterndrive engines, Ilmor, Indmar, and Mercruiser inboard engines, and Yamaha and Mercury outboard engines

· Winterize and summerize boats and engines

· Perform regular maintenance including tune-up, raw water impellor, outdrive service, fluid changes, etc

· Rigging of new boats (Regal and Key West)

· Operate a tow vehicle and tractor to maneuver boats on trailers

· Tow boats, perform service calls, and lake test boats

· Documenting repairs and parts used on work orders, including all parts, photos, and additional work needed

· Communicate efficiently with parts and service advisors

· Assist with movement of boats around facility

· Shrink-wrapping

· Maintain a clean and organized work environment

· Ensure all safety protocols are being followed when performing work to promote a safe working environment

· Ensure all boats are being handled with care before, during, and after service has been performed

Qualifications:

· 5 years’ experience in the marine industry preferred

· Volvo certified technician preferred, with knowledge of Vodia

· Knowledge of sterndrive, inboard, and outboard engines

· Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to diagnose electrical issues

· Strong computer skills and ability to use computers when diagnosing problems

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Ability to climb upstairs and ladders

· Ability to work in confined spaces

· Valid and clean Driver License

· Must be willing to travel for training at least once a year

Schedule:

· Monday thru Friday (7:00am to 3:30pm)

· Saturdays are mandatory during spring launch, rotating Saturdays during summer (otherwise as needed)

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
