Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify areas for improvement
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs
- Provide therapeutic activities and interventions to improve daily living and functional skills
- Educate patients and families on coping strategies, adaptive techniques, and assistive devices
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation professionals to ensure comprehensive care
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes
- Advocate for patient needs across care settings
- Assist patients with transitions back to daily activities
- Conduct home or workplace assessments and recommend modifications when appropriate
- Stay current with advancements and best practices in occupational therapy
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current New York State Occupational Therapist license
- Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist
- Nursing home or skilled nursing experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and psychology
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), including Net Health and Sigma (preferred)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
