Description

Betches is hiring a hands-on and detail-oriented Controller to lead our financial operations, budgeting processes, and accounting infrastructure. Reporting to the SVP, Finance, this role will serve as a key partner in overseeing budget ownership, maintaining strong internal controls, leading close and audit cycles, and driving operational finance excellence.

This individual will play a critical role in strengthening our in-house controllership capabilities, with full ownership of core finance operations including AP/AR, GAAP-compliant reporting, and the implementation of scalable processes. The ideal candidate has a strong accounting foundation, preferably from a Big 4 background or prior controllership experience, and brings a proactive mindset focused on accuracy and continuous improvement.

Roles & Responsibilities

Accounting Leadership & Financial Reporting

• Own the end-to-end design and implementation of full-stack accounting processes and ERP systems, enabling scalable financial operations and data integrity as the business expands
• Lead all core accounting functions, including general ledger, revenue recognition, billing, accounts payable/receivable (AP/AR), and cost accounting
• Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements and internal reporting in compliance with US GAAP

Close, Audit & Compliance Leadership

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes with a focus on speed, accuracy, and consistency
• Manage audit and tax processes and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors
• Establish and enforce financial controls ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards and internal processes

Budgeting & Cost Control

• Own the company-wide budgeting process and partner with department leads to ensure cost alignment and accountability
• Track performance against budget, monitor cost drivers, and identify actionable opportunities to control spend

Qualifications

• Progressive experience in finance or accounting, with prior roles in FP&A, controllership, or audit
• CPA certification strongly preferred
• Background in Big 4 public accounting or in-house controllership roles highly desirable
• Strong expertise in full-cycle accounting, with deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal control practices
  Experience designing and scaling accounting policies, internal controls, and audit-ready processes
• Proven ability to lead ERP system implementations and optimize financial workflows (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar)
• Proficiency with data analysis, automation tools, and financial reporting software
• Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills
• Detail-oriented and proactive with a focus on operational excellence

Compensation

The expected annual base salary for this role is $120,000 - $140,000. Final offers for this role will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided. Years of experience, skills, and other factors such as location are considered when determining the salary offered. Total compensation and offer package will include the following perks below.
