Job Description
This full-time Surgical Technician role offers the opportunity to join a professional, friendly, and highly motivated surgical team specializing in plastic and reconstructive facial surgery. You will play a key role in preparing, maintaining, and organizing the operating room, ensuring that every procedure runs smoothly and safely. Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room for daily procedures by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are ready and available.
- Verify with leadership that pre-operative checklists are complete prior to each procedure.
- Conduct all preparation, sterilization, maintenance, and stocking of operating room supplies and surgical instrumentation.
- Assist the RN in preparing instruments, supplies, and other necessary items to ensure the operating room is fully set for surgery.
- Scrub in for facial surgeries, including extended operative cases, and assist the surgeon throughout procedures.
- Apply thorough knowledge of sterile technique, including proper patient prepping and draping, and maintain a sterile field during long, detail-oriented procedures.
- Assist in the proper cleaning of the operating room following procedures, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.
- Oversee day-to-day assurance of sterile and non-sterile instruments and equipment, including monitoring functionality and readiness.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and organization of instruments, equipment, and supplies in compliance with practice protocols.
- Monitor stock levels, ensure operating rooms are fully stocked, and regularly check expiration dates on supplies.
- Participate in quality control surveillance measures to support safe and consistent clinical operations.
- Attend and actively participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities to stay current with best practices.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn new techniques and processes and to share knowledge by teaching others on the team.
- Assist with day-to-day troubleshooting of equipment and logistical needs in the operating room and related areas.
- Proactively identify maintenance issues and report or escalate them promptly through the appropriate channels.
- Maintain cleanliness, order, and a professional ambiance in the operating room and associated spaces.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with management regarding operations, needs, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with owners, advisors, injectors, and the broader team to deliver an exceptional client experience.
- Provide empathetic, professional interaction with patients and colleagues, supporting a culture of respect and teamwork.
- Adhere to all practice protocols and policies, including punctuality, dependability, and professional conduct.
Essential Skills
- Fully certified Surgical Technician.
- 1–3 years of clinical experience, with at least 1+ years of experience concentrated in plastic and reconstructive surgery.
- Prior experience as a Surgical Technologist in facial plastic surgery within a private practice setting, strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with facelift and facial procedures, with rhinoplasty experience considered a strong plus.
- Demonstrated ability to scrub in for facial surgeries, including extended operative cases.
- Thorough knowledge of sterile technique, including proper patient prepping and draping.
- Proven ability to maintain a sterile field throughout long, detail-oriented procedures.
- Proficiency with sterilization processes and surgical instrumentation handling.
- Current BLS certification.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other team members.
- Ability to adhere consistently to established protocols and policies.
- Team-oriented mindset with a positive, “can do” attitude.
- Flexibility, dependability, and punctuality, with the ability to show empathy in patient and team interactions.

Work Environment
This is a full-time role at 40 hours per week, typically structured as four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with the expectation of working two Saturdays per month. The practice operates between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and the ideal candidate is flexible to work a 10-hour shift within these hours. While later shifts such as 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. are more common, you may occasionally be scheduled to start at 6:00 a.m. to support coverage needs. The position is split between offices in Manhattan and Long Island, with regular travel to the Woodbury and Manhattan locations, typically twice per week. You will work in a modern surgical environment focused on facial plastic and reconstructive procedures, using specialized surgical instrumentation and adhering to strict sterile techniques. The practice emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and a professional ambiance in all clinical areas. The compensation structure includes a salary component and additional perks, with a 6-month contract-to-hire arrangement and a package designed to support work–life balance and reward team-based results

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
