Line Cook
WEST10WEST is an intimate West Village restaurant known for its curated selection of natural wines, handcrafted cocktails, and a menu influenced by various global cuisines. We pride ourselves on providing an inviting space for our guests to enjoy unique culinary experiences.
About the Role:We are currently seeking a competent, efficient, and passionate line cook to join our kitchen. This is a key role in a small but ambitious environment, where every plate reflects our commitment to quality, craft, and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items in accordance with our menu and recipes
- Ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Assist with menu planning and recipe development
- Help to maintain kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries
- Assist with washing dishes and maintaining a clean kitchen environment
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Take direction and follow established procedures
- Adapt to changing circumstances and take on new responsibilities as required
Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members
- Experience in a small restaurant setting is an asset
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and kitchen hygiene best practices
