The Squarespace Finance team is looking for an Accountant to join our NYC office. You will play a key part in both the month-end close and the transformation of our financial reporting processes through automation.

You'll lead process and system initiatives that streamline workflows and improve the accuracy and efficiency of our close. This is a great opportunity to apply your accounting expertise to strengthen financial reporting at a growing company.

This is a hybrid role, working from our NYC office three days per week. You'll report directly to the Senior Accountant.

You'll Get To...



  • Support the accounting team with daily and monthly functions, ensuring transactions are processed in accordance with GAAP.

  • Manage fixed assets, including maintaining the subledger, tracking additions and disposals, recording depreciation, and preparing rollforwards.

  • Perform month-end close activities across multiple financial statement line items.

  • Help prepare financial reporting requests.

  • Gain an understanding of business processes and connect them to financial results.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and propose process enhancements.

  • Document close procedures following internal control requirements.

  • Support annual audit and quarterly review preparation.

Who We're Looking For



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA eligibility preferred).

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with month-end close or related experience in public accounting.

  • 1+ years of experience with NetSuite or another large ERP system.

Cash Compensation Range: $70,500 - $113,850 USD


The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), Squarespace employees are eligible to be granted an option to purchase our common stock.
