Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Chief Urban Farmer, the role of this individual is to implement urban agriculture projects with a multicultural clientele within their workplace and living environments located in various boroughs of Montreal. They will also be responsible for mobilizing, raising awareness, and transferring knowledge of urban agriculture to this diverse clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
The person in this role will be responsible for:
- Setting up agriculture projects.
- Managing production areas.
- Monitoring, supporting, and evaluating urban agriculture activities for assigned projects throughout the season.
- Collaborating with the MicroHabitat team to contribute to the expansion of the company worldwide and the deployment of urban agriculture in each of our cities.
Horticultural Management:
- Coordinate and prepare materials for installations.
- Procure supplies.
- Assist with installation setups during the installation period with the MicroHabitat team.
- Ensure the full maintenance of MicroHabitat's urban farms and engage organization members by providing project information and horticultural advice.
- Conduct educational activities with MicroHabitat clients.
- Perform various tasks, including harvesting, propagating, watering, tying tomato plants, pest and weed control, cleaning harvests, and delivering produce.
- Perform quality control tasks and issue reports for horticultural management.
Representation and Administration:
- Attend team meetings and partner meetings.
- Write reports and document activities for each production space.
- Perform tasks related to purchasing and maintaining tools and infrastructure.
- Conduct quality control and generate reports for managing the roofs of urban farms.
- Follow and maintain safety protocols related to MicroHabitat operations.
- Participate in the creation of standardization documents and training guides for company operations.
- Work directly with different company branches (sales and marketing) and with other cities where MicroHabitat operates.
Requirements:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in agriculture/urban agriculture/horticulture/environmental science/sustainable development (flexibility on this point).
- Must have worked or studied in the fields of agriculture, horticulture, urban agriculture, or sustainable development.
- Have theoretical and practical knowledge of agriculture, urban agriculture, or horticulture.
- Be experienced and comfortable using technology, including smartphones, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet).
- Have strong writing and speaking skills.
- Hold a valid driver's license.
- Have two years of experience driving vehicles.
- Own an activated and functional smartphone.
- Be an american resident.

Salary and Benefits:
- Start date: TBD
- Offered salary: $20.50/hour
- Snacks and coffee provided at the warehouse.
- 5-7 pm social hours with the rest of the team about once a month.
Standard Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm (variable depending on meetings).
