Case Management Supervisor - 4905

Our family shelters are safe, welcoming spaces where families can stay temporarily while they work toward long-term stability. Program staff provide compassionate support, life-enhancing services, and community-based resources to help empower each family. Together, we guide families on their journey back to independence and into permanent housing.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise case work staff through weekly individual and monthly group meetings.
- Review case records and reports at least monthly.
- Direct staff interventions in difficult or crisis situations.
- Maintain and monitor program variance reports to ensure statistical goals are being met.
- Monitor program for quality assurance and contract compliance.
- Provide each staff member with monthly progress report and yearly performance appraisals.
- Assist in the development and implementation of services for clients.
- Maintain a case load and provide direct services to client, including intake, engagement, assessment, service plan development, referral, advocacy, counseling, exit summaries and follow-up.
- Interview and recommend staff for hire.
- Submit reports to supervisor monthly, or more frequently as required.
- Represent the agency at meetings and events.
- Act as a liaison between BronxWorks and other CBO’s, the area community district, and government agencies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
PROGRAM SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee case management, ensuring uniform quality of services and compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Recruit, train, supervise and motivate a team of well-informed, professional staff.
- Intervene in major crisis with clients, staff and agencies, ensuring well-being and compliance with laws and government regulations.
- Implement goals for relocating the maximum number of homeless families to appropriate permanent housing.
- Coordinate an inter-agency program of comprehensive social services, providing specialized mental health service.
- Prepare social services statistics and reports for performance analysis and program planning.
- Formulate and implement social services policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Social Work or related field.
- LMSW is required within 6 months of hire if not obtained as of hire date.
- Prior supervisory experience working in a social service agency preferred.
- Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile, and copier equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
