Applications Engineer
:
Summary: Key position in the organization to take responsibility for and assume single point of accountability in developing and maintaining product standards across various end markets. Technical point of contact for issues that are critical to product development and sustainability. The Applications Engineer will work with customers and suppliers on applications requiring technical support. This will include playing a key role in design considerations in new product development. This position will work with Sales, Marketing, and other Engineers to ensure designs meet all applicable standards. This position will also play a leading role in evaluating manufacturing processes to determine production capability and methods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principle functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements that may be inherent to the job.
· Use SolidWorks to draw new prints for customer and internal use.
· Conduct testing of product for application validation.
· Assist in strategic goal of 30% of sales resulting from new products, and coordinate newly designed or supplied product(s) to point of sale.
· Support existing product line sales as necessary to assist in installation tooling, new product design concepts, quality procedures, product drawing updates and application. Will work closely with overseas suppliers.
· Assist customers in troubleshooting and/or application development of new and existing products (will require travel).
· Produce technical Marketing literature
· Continuously obtain market knowledge to improve and advance Sherex's product offering
· Develop product standards and specifications for Sherex's global network.

Education and/or Experience:
· BS in Mechanical Engineering with 1-3 years' experience in product design and project management or 2-4 years equivalent experience.
· Team Leader and Advanced Product Quality Planning experience is a plus.
La uage Skills:
· Ability to read and write English to maintain records and create reports for various purposes.
· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and group situations involving employees, suppliers, customers and the public.
· Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
Mathematical/Analytical Skills :
· Apply engineering calculations and assumptions to new product design, develop product Design of Experiments, & Testing Program .
Other skills and Abilities :
· Mechanical aptitude, 3-D Computer Aided Drafting experience, Solid Works.
· A working use of Microsoft Excel, Power Point, & Word is required.
· Self-motivated as well as being goal orientated (written) is a must.
· Able to work independently and create projects that are not directly assigned.
· Able to manage design/development projects from start to finish with close coordination with global facilities.
· Overseas travel and/or travel to other North American countries may be required.
Reasoning Ability:
· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
· Ability to review data, draw conclusions and make suggestions based on data.

The work environment consists of a standard office environment. The temperature and noise levels in the work environment are moderate. Occasionally requires working in the warehouse when tool evaluation and set-up as well as product testing is required. The temperature and noise levels in the work environment are also moderate. At times in winter the warehouse can be cold, until the heaters have been running a few hours. May require travel to a customer facility for trouble shooting and/or application design/development work. When traveling to these facilities, noise, temperature, and safety hazards may be heightened.

Pay: $68,602.48 - $82,618.03 per year
