Pastry Chef de Partie

Michelin-starred Chef Christophe Bellanca is seeking a passionate, disciplined, and highly motivated Pastry Chef de Partie to join the team at Essential by Christophe.

This position is ideal for a cook who is eager to refine their craft in a Michelin-starred environment and contribute to a pastry program rooted in precision, seasonality, and classical French technique. The Pastry Chef de Partie will work closely with the Chef Christophe and culinary leadership team to execute all pastry and dessert production while maintaining the highest standards of quality, organization, and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily pastry mise en place and service preparations to Michelin-star standards.
• Prepare and plate desserts, petits fours, breads, and other pastry items with consistency and attention to detail.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the pastry station at all times.
• Assist with recipe execution, product development, and seasonal menu changes.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs to the Pastry Chef.
• Properly store, label, and rotate products in accordance with DOH and food safety standards.
• Maintain detailed production schedules and ensure all prep is completed efficiently.
• Support fellow team members and contribute to a positive, professional kitchen culture.
• Uphold all standards related to sanitation, food handling, and workplace safety.
• Assist with private events, special dinners, and off-site culinary opportunities as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of pastry experience in a fine dining, luxury hospitality, or Michelin-starred environment preferred.
• Strong foundation in pastry fundamentals, including doughs, creams, cakes, chocolate work, and plated desserts.
• Ability to work cleanly, efficiently, and with a strong sense of urgency.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
