MANE is undergoing unprecedented growth across all three disciplines with a dynamic cadre of recent faculty hires. Our research addresses some of the world's most pressing technological challenges-from energy and sustainable development to materials, manufacturing, controls, adaptive and resilient systems, biotechnology, and human health. Approximately 1,300 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students are currently enrolled in MANE.

Job Summary
The Department of Mechanical, Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering (MANE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Mechanical Engineering. Applications will be considered at the adjunct or early Associate Professor levels.
We welcome candidates that will bring additional dimensions to MANE's research and teaching mission. We are especially interested in candidates working in the broad area of robotics and controls.
Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. or foreign degree equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. The prosperous candidate must also be able to demonstrate the potential to carry out the following tasks: develop and maintain an internationally recognized, interdisciplinary program of funded research in Mechanical Engineering, to actively contribute to the core graduate and undergraduate teaching mission of MANE, and engage in department, institute, and professional service activities.


Starting income/Rate

Expected hiring range:

» adjunct Professor $95,000-$120,000

»Associate Professor $110,000-$142,000.

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer's good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
