Physician Assistant - Surgery / Vascular
Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Physician Assistant - Surgery / Vascular and Surgical Oncology tothe group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. Kings County Hospital operates a world-renowned Level I Trauma Center, one of only three in Brooklyn, which serves 2.6 million residents of Brooklyn and Staten Island.The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University to maintain its high healthcare delivery standards.

Opportunity Details:
Schedule: Daytime, with flexibility; inpatient and procedural coverage.
- Provides perioperative management of vascular and surgical oncology patients in the outpatient setting in collaboration with attending physicians and clinical staff.
- Assists in the operating room following appropriate training and approval when resident support is unavailable or insufficient.
- Prepares patients for surgery on the day of procedure and takes appropriate precautions to ensure patient safety.
- Participates in quality assurance and departmental meetings focused on patient safety, surgical quality, case volume, and clinical protocols.
- Performs additional duties within the Department of Surgery, as assigned by the Chief of Surgery and division leadership, including operative procedures, inpatient rounding, clinics, or consults as needed.
- Participates in QAPI projects and quality initiatives, including EMR chart review, to support patient safety and quality assurance. May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Board Eligible or Board Certified by the NCCPA.
- Licensed to practice in New York State.
- ACLS life support certification or eligible to obtain.
- Clinical experience preferred but not required; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
Wages and Benefits include:
Annual Base Salary: $131,127* - $174,836* based on 40-hour work week and years of state licensure.
The annual total value of compensation package is estimated at $144,239** - $192,319**, which includes the baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, and other factors as set forth below:
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS contribution limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings. No employee match is required.
