Who You Are

We're looking for someone who's creative, detail-oriented, and excited about using design to advance social impact. You don't need to be a professional designer — you just need a good eye, basic design skills, and the eagerness to learn and grow.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have a creative eye and enjoy visual storytelling
  • Are comfortable using design tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms (we will use Canva)
  • Write clearly and can craft engaging social media captions
  • Are organized enough to plan content calendars and think strategically
  • Pay attention to detail (consistency and quality matter!)
  • Care about social impact, equity, and mission-driven work
  • Can work independently in a remote environment while staying connected
  • Are open to feedback and eager to develop your skills

Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience planning or creating social media content (personal or professional)
  • Familiarity with website platforms like Squarespace, WordPress, or Wix (we use Squarespace)
  • Photography or video editing skills
  • A portfolio or examples of design work (school projects totally count!)
  • Understanding of accessibility in design (alt text, contrast, readability)
  • Interest in the nonprofit or social justice sectors

What We Offer

Working with Riverwalker Talent, you'll:

  • Build a professional portfolio of design and marketing work in the social impact sector
  • Gain hands-on experience developing social media strategy and content
  • Learn how to create on-brand visuals that drive engagement and results
  • Develop skills in web design and digital communications
  • See your creative work reach thousands in the talent and social impact community
  • Work directly with an experienced nonprofit leader and small, collaborative team
  • Contribute your creativity to work that connects people with meaningful careers

We're committed to making this a meaningful experience that strengthens your portfolio and your professional development.
