Duties Description

Coordinates, directs and provides professional nursing care to residents of the Nursing Home under the direction and supervision of the RN 2 and/or ADON/DON. Notes: 1. If you fail to maintain your license and/or registration once you are appointed, action will be taken to remove you from the position. 2. In order to be eligible for appointment and to maintain employment, you can not be listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of the Federal and/or State Medicaid and Medicare exclusion lists. If you are appointed and subsequently listed as an excluded individual or entity on any of these lists, you may be terminated from your employment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a license and current registration as a registered professional nurse in New York State.

Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health St. Albans Veterans Home employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.

Transfer: Current New York State employee with one or more years of permanent, contingent-permanent, or 55 b/c service

in a position eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, to a Registered Nurse 1, Grade 18.

Preferred Qualifications: Must have Long-Term Care Nursing Experience

Wound Care Experience (a plus)

Additional Comments

Work hours vary. Day, Evening, or Night shifts are available with alternate weekends off.

Posted salary range ($76,147 - $85,138) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for grade 18, plus a geographic pay differential of $35,000 in addition to $4,000 of Downstate Adjustment.

Inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay. Additional Shift differential of 7% for evening shift and 10% for Night shift.

This position is part of the NYS HELPS program. No examination is required.
