Registered Nurse – Med Surg, Utica, NY. Travel assignment starting 04/27/2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,129–$2,321 per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 2x3 days. Setting: inpatient medical-surgical care with stroke stepdown patients in a unit-focused role.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct comprehensive nursing care for adult Med-Surg stroke stepdown patients, including daily neuro assessments and monitoring for changes in condition.
- Administer medications, manage IV pumps and supportive devices, and assist with N/G or feeding tubes as needed.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team (physicians, therapists, case management) to develop and adjust care plans and discharge goals.
- Document care and clinical observations in the EPIC electronic medical record with accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control practices, including isolation precautions when indicated; float to related units as needed to support patient care.
- Support patients and families with wound care, activities of daily living, and education related to diagnoses and treatments.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in New York; Nursys verification with active NY license and any other active RN licenses.
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg experience with stroke/stepdown exposure; travel experience documented.
- Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); NIHSS certification is required for this unit (can be obtained prior to start).
- EMR experience with EPIC preferred.
- Driver’s license with current address matching demographics.
- RTO (Requests for Time Off) must be included at time of submission.
- Willing and able to float to related units as needed; able to work with adult patient population.
