Barista

Responsibilities

• Ensure good housekeeping and the organization, cleaning and maintaining of all front of house stations, tools and equipment.
• Ability to understand and communicate the composition of all menu items
• Maintain a positive, professional and outgoing demeanor during service
• Fulfill customer orders, requests and questions
• Communicate regularly with your team to be up to date with outstanding orders, and if we are out of certain items.
• Managing/rotating coffee, tea and pastry inventory
• Keep your area well stocked with everything you will need throughout the day
• Assist the team with accepting, unloading and putting away any product deliveries
• Brewing drip coffee, diluting cold brew concentrate, brewing teas while maintaining their areas and keeping them clean and clear of grounds
• Communicate with management when stock is low on items
• Ability and understanding of how to open your station, and set yourself and the team at large up for success
• Ability to efficiently break down, clean, and close your station at the end of the day
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred Experience and Character

• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a restaurant
• Knowledge of coffee, tea and their various styles. Experience making espresso drinks in a high volume environment is a plus!
• Knowledge of allergens within food/drink items
• A passion for hospitality and a love of the food and beverage industry
• Full understanding of Toast point-of-sale operating systems
• Ability to remain positive and motivated after multiple customer interactions
• Knowledge of Department of Health rules and how to store food/drink items safely
• Ability to repeatedly go up and down stairs during a shift
• Honesty, respectfulness, and courtesy in how you work with others
• Willing to be creative when faced with challenges
• Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
• Ability to move efficiently and prioritize tasks
• A person with excellent communication and hospitality skills who wants to strengthen their team, and build a better company
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull and place objects weighing up to 25lbs. Requires frequent bending, reaching overhead, and twisting. Must be able to stand or walk for an extended period of time.ability to occasionally lift heavy boxes and spend 8+ hours standing
• Available to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
