Travel Registered Nurse ER Job
Registered Nurse – ER (Adult and Pediatric) travel assignment in Saratoga Springs, New York. Start date 04/13/2026 for a multi-week assignment. Weekly pay range $2,186–$2,256 per week; no guaranteed hours. Shift: 3x12-hour Nights. Setting: hospital emergency department with an approximate daily census of 120 visits and 36 beds. Orientation is 24 hours; pre-approved time off is limited to one shift per contract. The unit requires flexibility to float within the hospital based on skillset. Key Highlights

- Local residency: primary residence outside a 50-mile radius required Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity emergency nursing care for adult and pediatric patients; perform rapid assessments, triage, and continuous monitoring
- Administer medications, infusions, and treatments per physician orders; initiate and interpret 12-lead EKGs; provide dysrhythmia recognition and basic rhythm interpretation
- Manage telemetry and respond to rapid response events; coordinate with Respiratory, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Interpretation Services, Transportation, and Unit Secretary
- Document in EPIC; utilize Omnicell for medication handling; ensure accurate charting and timely communication with the care team
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; support patient and family education; assist with procedures and transfers
- Maintain an acceptable patient-to-nurse ratio (approximately 4–6 patients per nurse) and float within the hospital as needed based on skillset and staffing Requirements
- Active NY RN license in hand (Nursys verification recommended)
- BLS and PALS required; NIHSS required
- EPIC charting experience; Omnicell medication system exposure
- Demonstrated rhythm recognition and EKG skills; hospital proctored rhythm test with >80% overall accuracy and 100% identification of critical rhythms
- Relias EKG module required within 72 hours of signing; HealthStream modules due by 7 a.m. Wednesday before start (excluding TB testing, Orientation Checklist, Stroke Policy)
- Education: RN with current NY license; travel experience preferred but not required
- Experience: Preferred 5 years current ED experience; references required
- Flu vaccine required by 11/1; COVID-19 vaccine not required (exemptions considered with review)
- Locals NOT accepted — candidate primary residence must be outside a 50-mile radius
- Able to obtain 12-lead ECGs and manage/interpret dysrhythmias; ED-specific telemetered monitoring experience a plus Benefits and Support
