Maintenance Technician II
- Company maintenance requirements for machinery, facilities, and safety regulations, include:
- Performing preventative maintenance on all Bartell owned equipment and buildings.
- Performing maintenance on machine shop equipment, compressors, tooling, generators, lighting, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, etc....
- Working with the Benchmark concern reporting program to ensure hazards in the building are fixed in a timely manner.
- Upgrade, repair, replace machinery parts and components (electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc..) as needed to maintain equipment to a high-quality standard.
- Maintaining fluid levels as required on machinery and equipment.
- Changing fluids and filters as needed
- Conducting quality/accuracy checks on machine shop equipment using Renishaw Ball Bar equipment.
- Work with vendors and contractors when necessary.
- Electrical Maintenance:
- Completes intermediate electrical maintenance/troubleshooting for manufacturing machinery.
- Maintain electrical support of the building, ensuring all safety codes are complied with.
- Maintain the building wiring/safety inspections.
- Maintain all electrical records and inspections as required by OSHA
- Assist mechanical assembly with troubleshooting equipment breakdown and repair.
- Maintain Documentation
- Maintain proper preventative maintenance schedules and documentation for all equipment and facility items.
- Maintain, review, and update machine specific LOTO documents on all machinery and equipment with the guidance of Maintenance Technician 3, and departmental management.
- Maintain accurate records to meet both regulatory compliance and tracking needs, (OSHA, ISO, FM Global)
- Make sure all hazardous waste and universal waste are disposed of properly, and manifest is returned to Bartell signed and in time to meet requirements.
- Communication
- Utilizes strong written and oral communication skills often and consistently. Clearly understands the department objectives. Highly interactive with cross functional team members, contractors, and visitors.

- The employee shall have capabilities and experience to work in a team environment to accomplish employee's clear goals and objectives that support the overall departmental strategic plan. This employee also supports the corporate mission, vision, and core values - specific to the department contributions. Works well with other various departments.
- Problem solving
- The employee shall be able to maintain and troubleshoot the facility and machines with minimal guidance from Maintenance Technician 3 and Management.
- Planning and Organizing
- Demonstrates self-discipline in organizing tasks that meet time requirements, budgetary constraints, quality standards, and safety regulations and procedures.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks based on importance to operations.
- Technology
- Strong computer skills for preventative maintenance, repairs, time reporting and facility safety inspection, and communications.
- Learning
- Knowledgeable and experienced with maintenance and safety functions. Able and willing to expand knowledge to specific topics.
- Initiative and enterprise
- Professional and positive attitude with the initiative to cooperate in a teamwork environment.
- 2-year degree and/or 5 years' experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance at a manufacturing facility.
- Fluency in English.
- Working knowledge of Bartell manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Knowledge of safety requirements that apply to equipment and facility upkeep.
- Knowledge and ability to repair tools and equipment.
- Machining and fabrication knowledge.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Understanding of PLC/Ladder logic diagram.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong ability to prioritize projects based on their importance to company operations.
- Knowledge of industrial motors and controls.
- HVAC knowledge
- RCRA Certification.
- Strong computer skills.
- Assembly of industrial equipment.
- Strong communication and conceptual skills.
