Business Development and Partnerships Manager
About Us:
The LeFrak Center at Lakeside is Brooklyn's activity destination featuring year-round activities including ice skating, roller skating, bumper cars, dining, water play, biking, boating, family-friendly classes and special events.
Opened to the public in 2014, Lakeside is a 26-acre multi-purpose indoor and outdoor recreational facility located within Prospect Park, Brooklyn. The venue is part of a $74M redevelopment program and is considered the largest capital project in the 150 year history of the park and underscores a significant investment by the City of New York to provide amenities for and serve the demand of the expanding population around the park. This first-class family entertainment facility is comprised of 35,000 square feet of interior space and offices, two ice skating rinks which convert to a splash pad area and roller skating arena, biking and boating activities, indoor/outdoor full service food and beverage areas, bars and catering facilities, and dedicated event spaces and party rooms - that have the capacity to host multi sports tournaments, clinics, special events, banquets, meetings, weddings, concerts, community events and other family friendly activities.
Position: Business Development and Partnerships Manager
We are a hospitality services company specializing in creating destinations and immersive experiences. We are looking for a dynamic and self-driven business development and partnerships manager to help us expand our reach, forge strategic partnerships and drive growth opportunities. You will be responsible for identifying, developing and securing new business as well as strategic relationships within the special events industry, such as with producers, agencies, promoters, venues, suppliers, and sponsors. You will also work to generate new leads, pitch proposals and close deals for our special events and ice rink portfolio.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Business Development:
- Identify and target new business opportunities in the special events and winter attractions sector.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to achieve growth objectives
- Expand our client base, increase revenue and enhance our presence in the market
- Generate leads, initiate and nurture relationships with potential clients, and close sales deals
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
Partnership Development:
- Identify and build strategic partnerships with corporate clients, event organizers, agencies, venues and sponsors
- Negotiate and finalize partnership agreements that align with the company's objectives
- Collaborate with partners to create mutually beneficial cross promotions and synergies
- Represent our company at industry events and meetings, showcasing our capabilities
Market Expansion:
- Develop and execute strategies to expand our presence in existing markets and enter new markets
- Conduct feasibility studies and assess market potential to inform expansion decisions
- Monitor market trends, competitor analysis and adapt the company's offerings accordingly
Reporting and Analysis:
- Track and analyze key performance indicators related to business development and partnerships
- Prepare regular reports for management on status as well as insights and recommendations for improvement
You will have a strong network of contacts in the events sector, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a passion for creating memorable experiences. You will report to ownership and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the success of our projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Proven experience in business development and partnerships, preferably in the events or entertainment industry
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to gather and interpret data
- Results-oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $85,000.00 per year
