Duties Description Establish office procedures; design filing systems; implement policies and procedures; maintain efficient work flow; resolve day-to-day operational problems; respond to phone calls; sort mail; organize, expedite and follow up on projects; and coordinate information flow by acting as liaison among executives, staff, other employees and the public.The Administrative Assistant 2 provides comprehensive human resources support including scheduling interviews, recruitment tracking, coordinating onboarding and offboarding, performance management tracking, maintenance of personnel files, responding to HR inquiries, and liaising with staffing and recruitment, employee benefits, time and attendance, and payroll. Additional duties include requesting equipment and supplies, submitting building management tickets, and other general administrative support for investment and operations staff.
Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma; and three years of experience in administrative support , which includes use of office software (e.g., email, word processing), provision of customer service, business writing, and management of an office. Certification (e.g., IAAP Certified Administrative Professional), diploma, or associate's degree in office administration, secretarial science, administrative assistance, paralegal, business technology, or office technology substitutes for two years of experience.

Telecommuting: The Office of the New York State Comptroller (OSC) supports telecommuting where it is reasonable to do so based upon the agency's mission and operational needs. Generally, employees new to OSC will be restricted from telecommuting for at least 8 calendar weeks. After the initial 8 calendar week restriction, if an employee's primary residence location, duties, and work performance are aligned with telecommuting and operational needs they may be allowed to do so.
