Engineering director

Job Description:Assess opportunities for new business products and internal engineering initiatives. Develop organizational strategy for multiple engineering teams and communicate them to executive leadership. Manage and rebalance resource allocations across multiple teams. Lead the team that builds and scales our products. Craft the product roadmap and drive business impact alongside our Product Managers. Scale the team by partnering closely with our recruiters. Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers and engineering managers. Conduct and deliver performance reviews on a regular basis with an emphasis on coaching and mentoring. Handle incident response and communication.Job Requirements:1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and five (5) years of experience managing one or more technical project teams. **Will accept a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and three (3) years of experience managing one or more technical teams in lieu of the Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience requirements.2. Two (2) years of experience managing, mentoring, and coaching engineering managers, which may have been gained as part of or in addition to the technical team management.3. Additional experience must include: Estimating and prioritizing business features Developing scalable production quality systems Agile and scrum Modular infrastructure solutions such as AWS, GCP, Docker, and Kubernetes. Managing multiple technical project teams Managing complex SaaS projects Managing teams building developer productivity frameworks/tooling or REST/RPC-based apps (RDBMS-backed backend or web app frontend) Participating in and delivering performance reviews on a regular basis Acting as a liaison between engineers, business counterparts, and product managers to solve business problems and build thoughtful solutions Managing relationships and expectations of senior leadership to ensure alignment in vision and roadmap Efficiently scaling teams up in both size and scope+++ Identifying and evaluation opportunities for new business products and internal engineering initiatives4.
