Senior Accountant – Corporate Accounting (NYC | Onsite)

A leading global consumer products company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Corporate Accounting team. This is a high-impact role within a lean, fast-paced environment, offering strong visibility across multiple business units and exposure to core financial operations.

This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-intensive accounting environment, enjoys working with large data sets, and can contribute immediately to the month-end close process.

Compensation: $110K–$120K base 5% bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, and prepaids
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Manage and analyze large volumes of financial data within Excel and ERP systems
• Execute allocations across multiple business units and divisions
• Assist with fixed asset accounting and capitalization
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A and various business units to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Support external audit requests, including preparation of schedules and documentation
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and internal reporting

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience (corporate accounting / GL preferred)
• Strong understanding of month-end close processes
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Accruals and prepaids
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Financial data analysis
• Advanced Excel skills required (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS; ability to handle large data sets)
• Experience working in a mid-to-large size company environment (complex, multi-entity structures preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
• Exposure to lease accounting (ASC 842)
• Experience supporting external audits
• Background in consumer products, retail, or similar industries is a plus
