Our established Ports & Maritime Team is seeking a Group Leader who will provide leadership and direction to a growing team who provide innovative solutions for Ports & Maritime projects. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receives general operational guidance from the Ports & Maritime Department Leader and Director of Operations
• Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of projects to ensure the goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
• Establishes and maintains relationships for future or potential projects.
• Provides operational supervision and technical guidance to Project Manager(s), Project Engineers and Designers in the Ports & Maritime Group
• Maintains contact with senior client management, office management and managers of applicable departments within Jacobs and other engineering firms engaged in projects relating to the transportation services program.
• Establishes and implements staffing plans to permit effective handling of current and projected workloads
• Regularly monitors the progress of projects or tasks through project management reviews
• Directs/guides responsible Project Managers to take appropriate corrective actions in a timely manner.
• Directs and supervises the activities of assigned personnel and provides for and enforces proper delegation of management authority, responsibility, and accountability.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with clients.
• Establishes work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
• Directs and coordinates activities of Project Engineers, Engineers, and Technicians to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Initiates and reviews price proposals.
• Participates in interviews and presentations as applicable.
• Maintains positive relationships with current and past clients as assigned. Informs Department Leader and Director of Operations of potential opportunities to services.
• Serves as a representative of Jacobs at meetings, presentations, and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.
• Coordinates work share with other offices in Jacobs to deliver projects.
• Builds relationships within Jacobs to determine unique technical skills that can be delivered to the .
Here's what you'll need
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil and/or Related Engineering
• Demonstrated history of direct supervision of others during execution of design or project management of commercial and/or infrastructure Ports and Maritime projects
• Substantial professional years experience on transportation projects
• Several years experience as a Project Manager on complex projects
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in New York or the ability to obtain within six months. Professional Engineer (PE) License in other Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states preferred.
• Established rapport with Northeast and Mid-Atlantic clients
• Must have developed the following skills: engineering knowledge, leadership, oral and written communication skills, planning, teamwork, decision making, judgment and problem solving

Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.
The base salary range for this position is $150,000.00 to $185,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
