Job Title: RN – Med/Surg

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 14 Weeks

Shift: 7:30 PM – 8:00 AM

Hours Per Week: 34.5

Pay Rate: Local: Up to $59/hour | Travel: Up to $72/hour

Position Overview:

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking RN – Med/Surg for an exciting Travel or Local job in New York, NY.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans with healthcare team
• Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgery patients
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medications
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs
• Adjust specialized medical equipment and record measurements
• Monitor patient vitals and report adverse medication reactions promptly
• Collaborate with healthcare team on discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on surgical procedures and post-operative care
• Maintain and update patient files, charts, and medical records
• Follow nursing standards, protocols, and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg experience in acute care or post-acute facility
• Recent experience within the past year
• Physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, infection control
• IV therapy, post-operative care, patient education, telemetry monitoring

Preferred Skills

• EPIC EMR experience

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
• New York State RN License
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Queens only
