An Order Taker is responsible for answering telephones and taking guest food and beverage orders in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
What will I be doing?
As an In-Room Dining Order Taker , you will be responsible for answering telephones and taking guest food and beverage orders, playing a key role in ensuring that every guest’s in-room dining experience reflects the luxury and excellence we strive for as we work toward achieving Forbes 5-Star recognition. This role requires delivering personalized service with a focus on attention to detail, anticipating guest needs, and ensuring every aspect of the order process is executed flawlessly. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Answer In-Room Dining telephones with poise and professionalism, responding to guest requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner while providing an exceptional in-room dining experience.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the menu, ensuring you provide thoughtful recommendations that would enhance the guest’s dining experience by considering their preferences and needs.
- Make personalized recommendations for food and beverage items, ensuring that each guest's meal is curated to complement their tastes and preferences, creating an exceptional in-room dining experience.
- Take guest food and beverage orders with accuracy and attentiveness, inputting them promptly into the point-of-sale system, ensuring no detail is overlooked.
- Reconcile checks upon order delivery, ensuring accuracy with check totals, gratuity disbursement, and managing the cash drawer and house bank in strict accordance with established accounting guidelines.
The rate of pay for this role is $29.9647- $39.9529 and is based on applicable and specialized experience.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A passion for delivering next-level service, with a focus on creating a personalized, luxurious dining experience for each guest.
- Prior experience in a luxury hotel or similar environment is strongly preferred, with a solid understanding of the level of service and attention to detail required for Forbes 5-Star aspirations.
- Food and Beverage experience is preferred, particularly in providing excellent in-room dining service.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, with a proven ability to manage guest orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must possess a valid alcohol awareness certification (e.g., TIPS, ServSafe Alcohol) and Food Handler Card prior to being offered the position.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing thoughtful recommendations that enhance the guest’s dining experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests and team members in a friendly, professional, and approachable manner.
- A proactive attitude, anticipating and responding to guest needs with precision and care.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a focus on guest satisfaction.
