ER Registered Nurse Job Details

• Job Title: Locum Tenens Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Rochester, NY 14626 (New York nursing jobs)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract healthcare job
• Shift: Night, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with option to extend through holidays
• Hours per Week: 36
• Orientation: 16 hours
• Patient Ratio: 1:5, mixed/shared acuity
• Charting System: Epic (Epic EMR experience required)
• Scrub Color: Navy and white
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Float: Required based on census
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2000-$2060

ER RN Qualifications

• Active New York Registered Nurse license (must be in hand)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Ability to float to other hospital units as needed
• Must be able to work every other weekend
• Applicants must reside at least 75 miles from the Rochester facility
• First-time travel nurses are welcome!

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages: neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Perform phlebotomy, initiate IVs, and manage central lines
• Apply isolation precautions and care for patients with CVA
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Float to other units as required by census
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR
