The Role: 

As a Director within our AI Acceleration Practice, you are a senior leader responsible for driving measurable value for our clients through AI-enabled consulting and execution. You serve as the primary account owner for a portfolio of client relationships, overseeing the full lifecycle of engagements, from opportunity identification and solution design through program delivery and outcomes realization. 

You will lead multi-workstream programs that span advisory, build, and deploy engagements, bringing both strategic depth and hands-on execution capability. Your ability to engage at the executive level while going deep into functional and technical problem spaces sets you apart. You bring broad industry perspective and deep domain knowledge in one or more functional areas, and you possess the AI fluency required to architect and deliver transformation programs that leverage modern AI capabilities to generate lasting client impact. 

In this role, you will collaborate with Sol’s leadership team to grow the AI Acceleration practice, develop talent, and contribute to the firm’s intellectual capital and market positioning. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Account Management & Client Engagement

  • Own and manage a portfolio of client accounts, serving as the primary relationship holder at the executive and senior stakeholder level 
  • Identify and develop opportunities to expand the scope and depth of Sol’s engagement within existing accounts, applying a structured approach to value discovery across functions and business units 
  • Build trusted advisor relationships grounded in deep understanding of client strategy, operating context, and transformation priorities 
  • Lead client-facing communications, executive presentations, and steering committee engagements 

Delivery Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex AI consulting and execution programs, including both advisory engagements and build deploy run implementations 
  • Structure and oversee multiple concurrent workstreams, ensuring integration across advisory, technical, and operational tracks 
  • Establish delivery governance frameworks including program milestones, risk management protocols, and quality assurance standards 
  • Ensure delivery excellence across all client-facing outputs, timelines, and stakeholder communications 
  • Serve as an escalation point and decision-maker for cross-workstream issues, dependencies, and risks 

AI Acceleration & Value Creation

  • Apply deep AI fluency to identify, design, and implement AI-driven solutions that generate tangible, measurable outcomes for clients 
  • Conduct broad and deep value assessments across client organizations to surface AI acceleration opportunities spanning operations, product, technology, and customer experience 
  • Translate complex AI capabilities into practical, business-aligned roadmaps that clients can understand, commit to, and execute against 
  • Stay current on the rapidly evolving AI landscape, integrating emerging tools, frameworks, and methodologies into Sol’s delivery model 

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop cross-functional engagement teams comprised of consultants, technical specialists, and client team members 
  • Provide active mentorship and coaching to Principal Consultants and junior team members, supporting their professional development and performance 
  • Participate in performance management processes including goal-setting, reviews, and development planning 
  • Contribute to recruiting, onboarding, and capability building within the AI Acceleration practice 

Practice Development

  • Contribute to the development of Sol’s AI Acceleration practice through thought leadership, reusable frameworks, and point-of-view development
  • Support business development activities including proposals, client presentations, and pipeline development in collaboration with Sol’s leadership team
  • Actively contribute to Sol’s culture, internal initiatives, and firm-wide knowledge development

Qualifications:

  • 10 – 15 + years of progressive experience in management consulting, technology transformation, or AI implementation. 5+ years in management consulting at a top-tier or specialized boutique firm preferred
  • Strong AI fluency, including practical knowledge of AI/ML technologies, generative AI applications, and the ability to assess and architect AI-enabled solutions for enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated track record of owning and managing senior client relationships across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation programs consisting of multiple concurrent workstreams across advisory and implementation phases
  • Demonstrated ability to go broad in identifying value opportunities across an organization and deep in structuring and executing against them
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly at the C-suite level and synthesize complex concepts for diverse audiences
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing consulting teams across both advisory and delivery-focused engagements
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, execution-oriented environments with a high degree of ambiguity
  • Prior experience with AI tool adoption and workflow integration in a professional services or enterprise delivery context is strongly preferred
  • Preferred but not required: Experience in one or more of Sol’s practices areas/sectors: Advertising Technology (AdTech), Workforce & Operations Systems, Media & Broadcasting or State/Local Government & Education

Compensation:

Base Salary $180-220K per year. In this role, you will participate in an annual discretionary bonus plan, aligned to company performance and individual performance. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
