About the Department
The Marketing, Creative & Digital team works collaboratively withalldepartmentsacross the organization to support strategy formulation, growth plan execution, and project implementation. The team provides the organization with in-depth analytical support in evaluating existing operations and new business opportunities. Furthermore, they help lead and advise cross-functional project teams in executing action items/special projects that have been designed to help NYRR continue to reach its strategic objectives.

About the Position
The Marketing Project Management Specialist will report to the Chief Marketing and Digital Officer and will support the project management across all pillars of the Marketing, Creative, & Digital team, with particular focus on milestone initiatives, key organizational priorities, and new strategic programs. This role will oversee planning, coordination, and execution of high-priority marketing initiatives, critical campaigns, and brand efforts.
Job Responsibilities:
Core Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and monitor marketing projects and initiatives to ensure maximum impact and efficiency
- Ensure alignment with marketing strategy, departmental priorities, and organizational goals
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive successful project execution while maintaining scope and objectives
- Manage project budgets, resources, and dependencies
- Develop, maintain, and track project timelines, milestones, and project risks to ensure project stays within scope.
- Lead project management efforts for major marketing initiatives, including:
- Continued rollout and implementation of the NYRR brand and logo across all races, properties, programs.
- Key projects supporting the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon and anniversary activities
Supporting Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Strategy, Planning & Analytics and Studio teams to strengthen project management best practices across the organization
- Support the development of templates, documentation standards and training materials
- Build upon and enhance cross-functional collaboration frameworks to improve communication, transparency, and teamwork across the organization
- Work with NYRR teams to identify process optimization opportunities and develop actionable recommendations, while supporting organization-wide change management initiatives
- Assist in facilitating creative and strategic brainstorming sessions
- Support the execution of annual strategy planning sessions and related recaps for marketing-driven initiatives
Job Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience, including 2–5 years of project management experience, preferably within the marketing and/or nonprofit sectors.
- Strategy experience a plus
- Solid experience with change management and process improvement projects
- Knowledge and understanding of sports events, youth sports and activities, and community programs.
- Experience with project management tools, Monday.com is preferred.
Education and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- PMP or other Project Management certification a plus

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; aptitude to work with a variety of internal and external constituencies
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team on collaborative assignments
- Ability to exercise discretion with confidential matters and information
- Fluency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
- Ability to work occasional weekends or evenings
- Operate on a hybrid schedule, with two days per week in the NYRR office in NYC
Other Requirements:
- Experience in sports (especially running!) at any level a plus
- Heart, humor and an appreciation for the value of physical fitness
- All staff are required to work the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon, RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon, and the TCS New York City Marathon
Salary: $76,000 – $85,000/year
