Job Description:
The Head of Wealth Technology Platform is a senior technology leadership role reporting directly to the Head of Wealth Technology. This critical position will lead the transformation of Citi's Wealth Technology Stack into a single, unified platform, driving innovation, efficiency, and a superior client experience. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of leading large-scale technology transformations in the financial services industry.
Key Objectives:
- Lead the transformation of Citi's Wealth Technology Stack into a single, unified platform.
- Drive the adoption of modern technologies and architectures, including containerization and public cloud.
- Enable the delivery of a new, dedicated Citi Wealth application.
- Streamline account management and cash management processes.
- Enhance client segmentation and tiering capabilities.
- Implement agile development methodologies and foster a culture of innovation.
- Ensure the platform meets the highest standards of security, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Strategy and Vision: Define and articulate a clear vision and strategy for the Wealth Technology Platform, aligned with the overall business objectives of Citi Wealth Management.
- Transformation Leadership: Lead the end-to-end transformation of the Wealth Technology Stack, overseeing all aspects of the platform build, migration, and ongoing maintenance.
- Technology Architecture: Drive the adoption of modern technology architectures, including containerization, public cloud, and microservices. Ensure the platform is scalable, resilient, and cost-effective.
- Agile Transformation: Lead the agile transformation of the development organization, establishing dedicated squads with product owners and enabling iterative development and streamlined decision-making.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the platform meets their needs and expectations.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key technology vendors, ensuring they deliver high-quality products and services. Abstract the choice of vendors as a key platform principle.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the platform budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technology risks, ensuring the platform meets all regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with restricted technology guidelines: The new stack must limit any prohibited and restricted technologies
- Wealth Intra-day Bookkeeping: Accountable for wealth intra-day bookkeeping processes: journals, tax lots, positions, balances, clients, accounts
- Migration Strategy: Oversee the phased rollout of the new stack, initially targeting new-to-bank CPB NAM clients, with bulk migration of existing clients occurring incrementally by region and segment after the platform stabilizes.
- Environment Strategy: Establish and maintain enhanced testing environments, including 2 UAT and 1 Performance testing environment, to mitigate current test environment challenges and enable Agile execution. Drive testing automation to bring in cost efficiencies and faster turnaround time.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience:
- +15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, with a focus on wealth management or financial services.
- Proven track record of leading large-scale technology transformations.
- Deep understanding of wealth management technologies and business processes.
- Experience with agile development methodologies.
- Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Strong understanding of technology architecture principles.
