Senior Trader, Funding and Resource Management, Director
The Funding and Resource Management (FRM) team is responsible for the refinancing of all asset positions within the Equity business line, as well as the management of the main internal and external financial constraints (Capital, liquidity, balance sheet). The NAM FRM team is looking for a senior trader to lead our funding strategy, liquidity and capital control in NAM with other FRM officers. The book covers a wide range of instruments (swaps, repo, collateral swap, IRS, FX swaps) and is subject to various complex regulatory constraints (GSIB, RWA, LCR < NSFR, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee a >150b$ trading book: respect of risk limit, trades execution and negotiations, pnl monitoring.
Maintain and extend Citi franchise with external counterparts (triparty, agent lenders, other banks) and clients (Prime Brokerage franchise client, asset managers, Pensions).
Ensure the respect of all liquidity constraints (LCR, NSFR, Stress Test, Tenor) and daily funding requirements.
Monitor and improve the implementation of the different regulatory metrics and how they apply to the Equity business.
Help structuring resource optimization transactions to increase return on liquidity and capital.
Coordinate with other senior FRM officers to define an optimal funding strategy to respect capital constraints (GSIB, RWA).
Monitor and minimize the carry cost of the book under all constraints.
With the rest of the FRM team, improve Transfer Pricing methodology and implementation.
In partnership with Product team, lead the IT improvement needed for the platform to run efficiently.
Coordinate with the Treasury department and Equity CFO on liquidity and Capital forecast.
Measure and price available capital and liquidity capacity for Equity, and cost of reduction.
Ensure global best practice and operational efficiency with the other regions senior FRM officers.
Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure.
Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics.
Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; demonstrating proper consideration for the firm’s reputation.
Be familiar with and adhere to Citi’s Code of Conduct and the Plan of Supervision for Global Markets and Securities Services.
Adhere to all policies and procedures as defined by your role which will be communicated to you.
Obtain and maintain all registrations/licenses which are required for your role, within the appropriate timeframe.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
10+ years in a related role.
Strong knowledge of funding strategies and products (derivatives, SFTs, FX, IRS).
Strong knowledge of US regulatory constraints:
Capital (GSIB, RWA)
Liquidity (LCR, NSFR, Stress Test)
Broker dealer activity (15c3, etc.).
Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders (Finance, Treasury, Trading, Tech, Sales, etc.).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Effective interpersonal skills to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to analyze and pitch situations and determine suitable counterparties.
Master's degree in a finance field (e.g., Finance, Math, Statistics, etc.).
