Technologist II - Clinical Chemistry (evening shift with weekend rotation)
- Perform technical duties in laboratory sections as assigned.
- Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, up-to-date records/logs/files / databases.
- Performs routine and advanced equipment maintenance.
- Create neat, accurate, well-formatted documents.
- Contribute to upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area.
- Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures.
- Manage the physical environment of the laboratory in accordance with New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned.
- Trains other technologists in the area(s) they oversee.
- Oversees activities of assigned shift/area. Performs special assignments, as directed.
- Monitor Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Safety and Inspection Control practices to assure compliance with internal and external regulations.
- Ensure smooth workflow and demonstrate decision-making abilities in all aspects of performance in support of the Department.
- Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required
- Current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
- 2+ years of relevant clinical laboratory work experience required
- Schedule: Monday-Friday 3:30 or 4 pm start time to 11:30 pm or 12 am (depends on bench assignment) will change weekly; Rotating weekend, every 4th weekend - 4 pm on Saturday to 8 am Sunday, would get day off week before
