As Chief of Technical Strategy supporting our Surveillance division, you will serve as the company's foremost technical authority in advanced antenna systems, defining the technology strategy that will influence our products, customers, and competitive position for years to come. Reporting directly to the Vice President and General Manager of the Surveillance Systems Division, you'll work alongside senior executives, engineering leaders, customers, and industry partners to transform breakthrough concepts into mission-critical capabilities.

This position is based in Syracuse, NY. A relocation package will be provided.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute the vision and technical strategy for Saab's advanced antenna technologies across the U.S. business.

  • Partner with senior leadership to define technology priorities, strategic investments, and long-term innovation roadmaps.

  • Drive the design, development, and transition of advanced radar and antenna technologies from concept to operational capability.

  • Lead the development of complex radar and antenna product applications while guiding product strategy throughout the lifecycle.

  • Collaborate with engineering leadership to shape and execute R&D initiatives aligned with business objectives and customer needs.

  • Support strategic pursuits by providing technical leadership for next-generation surveillance solutions.

  • Build and maintain trusted executive-level relationships with customers, industry partners, government stakeholders, and the broader radar community.

  • Serve as Saab's technical ambassador, strengthening the company's reputation as an industry leader in advanced antenna and radar technologies.

  • Inspire, mentor, and develop technical talent while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Compensation Range: $239,600 - $323,400

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. MBA or additional business qualifications a plus.

  • 20+ years of progressive technology leadership experience with proven record of success in leading large-scale radar design efforts.

  • Advanced Technical Subject Matter Expertise in advanced radar technologies for all sensor applications.

  • Ability to contribute to the development strategy and lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives.

  • Executive level communication and presentation experience.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% in support of program and business development efforts.

  • U.S. DoD Top Secret level clearance is required for consideration.

Citizenship Requirements:
