Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Infusion/Oncology position in Malta, NY, requiring ONS Chemo Certification, OCN certification, and Epic experience.

Details

• Outpatient infusion center setting focused on patient care excellence in a comfortable, convenient environment
• Treatments administered include IV antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, blood and blood product transfusions, IVIG, hydration therapy, iron infusions, therapeutic phlebotomies, and a wide range of specialty biologic medications
• Responsibilities include maintenance and care of central venous access devices, PICC line placement, intrathecal and implanted infusion pump management, and patient teaching for self-administered medications
• Day shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Weekend requirements are TBD
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience is required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ONS Chemotherapy Certification (CHEMO), and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
• ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of current outpatient oncology and infusion experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Peripheral IV insertion experience required
• Port, fistula, and catheter experience required
• IV Certification highly preferred
• BSN preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Completed de-escalation training (Welle, CPI, or PMCS) required for onboarding and clearance
• A 14-panel drug screen must be completed within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years of employment required for consideration
• Current skills checklist pertinent to the position (within the past year) required for consideration
• Permanent address must be included in profile and match Driver's License or State ID

Additional Information

• Candidates with a permanent address in the following New York counties are not eligible for this travel assignment: Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, and Washington
• All copies of licenses and certifications must be submitted for consideration — the facility will not pend on missing documents
• Any requested time off must be noted at the time of submission; RTO requests after submission will not be approved, and no more than 5 days of RTO will be accepted
• Personal scrubs of any color are required; no designs, cartoons, or hoodies permitted
• 8-hour non-billable orientation
• COVID vaccination is encouraged but not required
