Job Title : Technical Lead Engineer
Location : Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite in NYC preferred
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent

& The Role

We are seeking a highly driven Head of Engineering to lead the build-out of our client’s core engineering function. You will be the first traditional full-stack hire and will work closely with leadership to modernize the platform and support rapid scale.

& Responsibilities Include :

1. Lead full-stack engineering efforts across a data-driven web application
2. Work alongside the data engineering team to integrate claims and provider data
3. Collaborate with product and leadership on strategic technical decisions
4. Eventually help build out and manage a small engineering team
5. Participate in product development using both traditional and no-code/low-code platforms

Tech Stack

1. Backend : Postgres, Snowflake, dbt, Xano
2. Frontend : WeWeb, JavaScript/React (or similar modern frameworks)
3. Tools : 5tran, Dagster, Looker (or equivalent), AWS

Ideal Profile

We’re targeting someone with a steep trajectory who thrives in ambiguous environments and wants to help define the engineering culture from scratch. Strong startup instincts are essential.

& Must-Haves :

1. 6+ years of professional software engineering experience (will consider as low as 4 for exceptional candidates)
2. Experience building scalable multi-tenant web apps
3. Comfort working across the stack
4. Passion for healthcare access and mission-driven companies
5. Strong data fluency and interest in working with healthcare data

Nice-to-Haves :

1. Prior startup or founding engineer experience
2. Experience in healthtech, marketplaces, or employer-benefit platforms
3. Located in or willing to relocate to NYC
