Automotive Full Charge Bookkeeper
Location: Ray Catena auto group, White Plains, NY
Dealerships: Lexus, BMW, and MINI
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automotive Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our dealership accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of automotive dealership accounting experience and extensive knowledge of dealership accounting processes. Experience with Reynolds & Reynolds is required.
This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing dealership transactions, reconciling accounts, posting vehicle deals, and ensuring all accounting schedules are current and balanced.
Responsibilities
Post new and used vehicle sales deals accurately and timely.
Verify deal documentation for completeness and accounting accuracy.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Prepare, review, and clean accounting schedules on a regular basis.
Reconcile bank statements and manufacturer statements.
Process and reconcile vehicle inventory transactions.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Reconcile receivables, payables, and intercompany accounts.
Review contracts and funding documentation.
Monitor and maintain accounting controls and compliance procedures.
Work closely with dealership management, finance, sales, and office staff.
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and outstanding items.
Support audits and provide requested documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of automotive dealership accounting experience required.
Reynolds & Reynolds experience is mandatory.
Strong understanding of automotive accounting principles and dealership operations.
Experience posting vehicle deals and reconciling accounting schedules.
Knowledge of general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Lexus, BMW, or MINI dealership accounting.
Previous experience in a high-volume dealership environment.
Knowledge of manufacturer incentive accounting and floor plan reconciliations.
Benefits
Salary range: $75,000 – $80,000 annually, based on experience
