INTERVIEWING NOW - IMMEDIATE START
The Village of Poquott is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized individual to serve as Deputy Clerk. This part-time position, of approximately 12 hours per week, between the hours of 8 AM and 2 PM on Monday and Tuesdays, provides critical support to the Clerkâs Office in administrative functions, record-keeping, and public service. One mandatory evening meeting per month (third Wednesday of the month - 7 PM start time)
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Clerk with maintaining official records, documents, and meeting minutes.
- Perform administrative and related duties in the day-to-day operation of Village
government.
- Process permits, licenses, and applications as required.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents.
- Prepare agendas, notices, and other materials for board meetings.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Handle incoming inquiries via phone, email, and in person.
- Support election-related tasks.
- Acts on behalf of and in the absence of the Clerk as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Clerk.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in municipal government, administration, or clerical work preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Notary Public certification a plus.
