Assistant Professor- Jewish Studies
Baruch College seeks an assistant professor of Jewish Studies to start in Fall Semester 2026. The successful candidate will have interdisciplinary expertise in Jewish Studies suitable for a tenure-track appointment in one of the following academic departments: English, Modern Languages and Comparative Literatures, Philosophy, or Sociology and Anthropology; and affiliation with the Wasserman Jewish Studies Center, including with its newly established Antisemitism Studies Lab. Areas of expertise could include Jewish philosophy; Jewish- British, Anglophone, or American literature; research in contemporary Jewish experience including US and the diaspora; and antisemitism studies. Capacity to engage students in experiential learning is encouraged.
As a tenure track faculty member, the successful candidate will teach across multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, or online), conduct research suitable for dissemination in peer-reviewed outlets, advise students in their area(s) of expertise, serve the College through committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
