Floor Manager
Position Summary
The Floor Manager oversees smooth day-to-day dining room operations by delivering excellent guest service, supervising front-of-house staff, maintaining high hospitality standards, and working closely with the kitchen and ownership. As a visible leader on the floor, the Floor Manager helps create an atmosphere of quality, professionalism, and warmth.
Primary Responsibilities
* Lead front-of-house operations during assigned shifts.
* Greet guests and ensure attentive, professional service.
* Supervise servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, and food runners.
* Run pre-shift meetings to review specials, reservations, VIP guests, and updates.
* Resolve guest concerns quickly and professionally.
* Monitor service standards, food timing, and table turnover.
* Coordinate with the kitchen to support clear communication and guest satisfaction.
* Assist with seating, reservations, and guest flow during busy periods.
* Ensure compliance with New York City health and safety regulations.
* Enforce restaurant policies on appearance, punctuality, sanitation, and professionalism.
* Assist with scheduling, shift coverage, and labor management.
* Train, coach, and mentor front-of-house employees.
* Monitor cash handling and assist with opening and closing duties.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining room, bar, and guest areas.
* Promote teamwork and a respectful, positive work environment.
Qualifications
* Food Protection Certificate by the NYC DOHMH
* 2–3 years of restaurant management or supervisory experience.
* Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of POS systems and reservation platforms.
* Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* Familiarity with New York City food service regulations preferred.

* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
* Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Reporting Relationship
The Floor Manager reports directly to the General Manager and/or Ownership and is expected to uphold the restaurant’s mission of exceptional hospitality, operational excellence, and teamwork.
