Job Summary
Reliant MedCare Transport LLC is seeking professional, highly disciplined Couriers to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Western NY Healthcare System. This is a mission-critical role involving the 24/7/365 transport of life-saving blood products and patient specimens between the Buffalo VA Medical Center, the American Red Cross in West Henrietta, and various regional hospitals. In this role, "on time" means everything. You will be responsible for ensuring that blood for transfusions and laboratory samples reach their destination safely, securely, and within strict 60 to 90-minute windows.

Note: A company-provided, climate-controlled vehicle will be supplied for all contract operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Urgent Transport: Execute routine and STAT pickups/deliveries of blood specimens and products across the Buffalo/WNY region.
• Strict Timelines: Maintain a 1.5-hour delivery window for standard requests and under 1-hour for emergency STAT requests.
• Biohazardous Handling: Safely handle, load, and secondary-contain medical samples in accordance with DOT and OSHA regulations.
• Compliance & Safety: Maintain a clean, DOT-certified vehicle stocked with biohazard spill kits. Follow all bloodborne pathogen protocols without exception.
• Documentation: Utilize logs to track chain-of-custody, timestamps, and temperature-controlled storage conditions.

Requirements

• Licensing: Valid New York State Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Certifications: * Must be DOT Certified (or able to obtain certification prior to start).
• Must complete OSHA-approved Blood Borne Pathogen Training (provided upon hire).
• Availability: Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support our 365-day operation.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (coolers/medical crates) and remain focused during long-range drives (e.g., Buffalo to West Henrietta).

Preferred Skills

• Prior experience in medical courier services or "Specimen Logistics."
• Familiarity with the Buffalo area and local hospital networks (ECMC, Kaleida, etc.).
• Military veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
