Dim Sum Cook
A Dim Sum Line Cook is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef with inventory, supervision of staff, food preparation and executing quality and consistent dishes. property. Members of the Kitchen Department are responsible for ensuring that all visitors to the restaurant are delighted by the quality, creativity, and variety of our food and beverage offerings in every area of the restaurant, and that F&B is regarded as a strong point of differentiation for the restaurant in its local market.
A Dim Sum Line Cook is responsible for the oversight of all culinary dishes that are prepared in their section. Because of this, a successful Dim Sum Line Cook must be very knowledgeable about their specialty, as well as culinary functions in general. A person in this role must also be very organized and comfortable working in a high-pressure environment. A Dim Line Cook must also be able to give orders within their section, as well as reliably carry out orders handed down to them by the Executive Chef.
A Dim Sum Line Cook is passionate about food and people. As a result, they provide a positive influence and atmosphere for all kitchen employees. Knowledgeable on food safety and quality control, directing the service and expediting food, as well as setting pace in the kitchen are amongst the highest priorities.
Dim Sum Line Cook Job Description:
· Has solid Dim Sum knowledge and cooking skills
· Set benchmark standard to be the best in Hospitality Industry, food production and presentation
· Taste food product daily, prior the service, to judge the quality and over all consistency and inform for any shortage
· Need to seek suitable alternative to high-cost items to ensure price, value, perception and profitability.
· Responsible for the implementation, development, and smooth operation of the Dim Sum Kitchen Operation.
· Organize food production in a cost effective and hygienic manner.
· Prepare menu in accordance with quality, availability and seasonality ingredients and ensure market lists are completed on a daily and weekly basis.
· Assist in formulating, coordinating, and supervising all menu planning and implementation in the Dim Sum Kitchen.
· Ensure food standards and presentations are maintained and continuously improved
· Co-operate with and drive forward the implementations of minimum operating standards in all Food and Beverage kitchens through close follow up with outlet Managers.
· Able to prepare volume quantity of Dim Sum/siu mai items on your own
Dim Sum Line Cook Job Requirements:
· 3 years’ experience as Dim Sum Chef in luxury/upscale restaurants
· Ability to demonstrate passion for excellence
· Good spoken and written in Chinese (English a plus)
· Attention to details and quality, guest-oriented mindset.
