We are seeking a motivated Human Resources Associate/Generalist to join our team and help build a positive, compliant, and high-performance workplace culture.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Associate/Generalist will support daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and wants to contribute to the growth and professionalism of a developing laboratory organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with full-cycle recruitment, including posting jobs, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
  • Support new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Maintain and update employee records in compliance with company policy and applicable laws.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave tracking, and payroll changes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and HR-related requests.
  • Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations, including New York employment laws.
  • Coordinate employee training, performance evaluations, and engagement activities.
  • Support HR documentation, reporting, and policy development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of HR experience, preferably in a healthcare, laboratory, or scientific environment.
  • Working knowledge of New York labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll systems.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting HR in a regulated environment (CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA).
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience in a startup or rapidly growing company.
