Founded in 1782, Stissing House is one of the oldest operating taverns in the United States, and now, after an extensive renovation, Chef Clare de Boer and her team are honored to continue this tradition. WE’RE HIRING A FULL TIME PASTRY LINE COOK The primary role of the Pastry Line Cook is to plate dessert and snack items for dinner service and events. The Pastry Line Cook will work closely with both the savory and pastry kitchen teams to ensure seamless service.

We’re looking for a team player who leads by example and takes initiative. The ideal candidate is self motivated; committed to exceeding personal standards of growth and performance.

Responsibilities

• Plate various dessert and snack items for The Tavern menu and Feasts according to restaurant standards in a time efficient manner.
• Follow recipes, portioning, and presentation standards as directed by the Chef and Pastry Chef.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of workstation and storage facilities.
• Correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
• Set up workstation with tools, equipment, and supplies, restocking items as needed.
• Monitor product quality and report any inconsistencies or shortages to a manager.
• Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all ingredients and products.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with the dining room, event, and kitchen teams during set up and service.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic cooking and baking techniques.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• 1+ years of professional kitchen or bakery experience preferred, but not required.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends .
