Job Title: Medical Assistant – Contract

Location: New York, NY 10016

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hours: 40 Hours per Week

Job Summary

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care and clinical operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have strong patient care experience, excellent communication skills, and hands-on clinical experience including blood pressure checks, EKGs, and phlebotomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient care duties including vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and phlebotomy

• Assist physicians with exams and procedures

• Prepare exam rooms and maintain sterilization standards

• Enter orders and update patient records within EMR systems

• Schedule appointments and assist with patient registration

• Manage patient charts, referrals, lab reports, and medical records

• Maintain inventory and restock medical supplies

• Verify and update insurance information as needed

• Follow HIPAA, infection control, and safety guidelines

• Provide excellent communication and support to patients and families

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program

• Medical Assistant Certification preferred

• BLS Certification (AHA required)

• Experience with BP checks, EKGs, and Phlebotomy required

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Knowledge of EMR systems and medical terminology preferred
