Duties Description - Develop in-depth knowledge of agency administrative databases and data warehouse data marts/tables, including all ERD diagrams and refresh schedules in order to be able to provide technical advice, consultation and guidance on data field identification, mapping and use.- Employ systems knowledge to create and manage analytical datasets capable of serving agency needs related to multi-level analytical approaches, including admission, in-care, and discharge samples, as well as child, family and event level analyses.- Use SQL and various business tools such as COGNOS, SAS, and SPSS to perform analyses, create reports, complete ad hoc requests, and monitor performance.- Create and maintain data warehouse-based dashboards and visualizations per specified requirements.- Identify and provide analysis of issues for existing systems resulting from errors detected during implementation or in production.- Conduct in-depth requirements-gathering activities to determine needs and scope of a program request.- Present results of analytics in multiple formats, include dashboards, visualizations, fact sheets and written reports for various stakeholder audiences.- Supervise junior unit staff to ensure unit goals and objectives are met and ensure that subordinate staff acquire the necessary skills to be successful, which may include the development of training programs for staff, including techniques in analytics, data use and management, written and visual presentation. Provide technical guidance to subordinate staff and data warehouse users.Additional duties will be discussed during the interview process.

Minimum Qualifications Non-competitive: one year of permanent service as a Data Analyst 1 OR bachelor's degree in data or computer science, informatics, economics, statistics, mathematics, or a related field, and three years of experience* in data visualization, and statistical models and data mining tools.*Substitution: A master's degree in the above fields may substitute for one year of the specialized experience. A Ph.D. in the above fields may substitute for two years of the specialized experience.

Prospective employees will be required to pay any necessary fees. 3) For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees will be checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
