Staff Backend Engineer

AminoChain is seeking a highly skilled Staff Backend Engineer with expertise in distributed systems to join our talented development team. As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will play a crucial role in architecting, designing, and implementing distributed systems that power our decentralized protocol infrastructure for healthcare applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the scalability, reliability, and performance of our platform.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and services using Node.js and other server-side technologies.
• Implement blockchain technology and integrate smart contracts into our backend systems.
• Create and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices for seamless integration with frontend applications and external data sources.
• Develop and optimize database structures for efficient storage and retrieval of data.
• Ensure the security and reliability of our systems, including implementing authentication, encryption, and other security measures.
• Write comprehensive tests to validate the functionality and performance of our backend systems.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure a seamless user experience across the entire stack.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and adhere to coding standards and best practices.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in Web3 development and blockchain technologies.
• Take ownership of projects and tasks, and demonstrate initiative in finding innovative solutions.

• Prior experience working as a Staff Backend Engineer (>5yrs experience) or similar role with a focus on distributed systems preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend programming languages such as Solidity and Node.js
• Understanding of blockchain concepts, smart contracts, and decentralized networks.
• Experience in blockchain and other Web 3.0 technologies, as a web3 developer and/or as a backend service developer
• Strong proficiency in server-side development using Node.js, Express, and other relevant frameworks
• Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar
• Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing authentication, encryption, and other security measures
• Experience writing comprehensive tests using testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Experience working in early-stage startups a definite must and prior experience in the healthcare industry a good plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
